Real Madrid have been crowned champions of Europe for the 15th time after defeating Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in the 2024 UEFA Champions League final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday. Second-half goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Jr. sealed the victory for the Spanish giants, who dominated the match from start to finish.
Dortmund had reached the final after a stunning semi-final victory over Atletico Madrid, but they were unable to match Real Madrid's quality on the night. The German side were outplayed in all areas of the pitch, and they rarely threatened the Real Madrid goal.
Carvajal opened the scoring in the 70th minute with a powerful drive from the edge of the area. Vinicius Jr. then made the game safe 10 minutes later with a clinical finish after being played through by Karim Benzema. These goals proved decisive as Real Madrid cruised to victory.
