Barcelona Back in Second After Beating Real Sociedad

Teen sensation Lamine Yamal scores as Barcelona beat Real Sociedad 2-0 at the Olympic Stadium

Barcelona are back in second place in the La Liga table with three games to go thanks to a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Real Sociedad at the Olympic Stadium.

Ousmane Dembele opened the scoring for Barcelona in the first half, and 18-year-old Yamal doubled the lead in the second half with a stunning strike.

The win sees Barcelona move above Real Madrid into second place, one point behind leaders Atletico Madrid. Real Sociedad remain in third place, five points behind Barcelona.

Barcelona took the lead in the 24th minute when Dembele latched onto a pass from Lionel Messi and fired a low shot into the bottom corner.

Yamal made it 2-0 in the 69th minute with a brilliant solo goal. The young forward collected the ball on the left wing, dribbled past two Real Sociedad defenders, and curled a shot into the top corner.

Barcelona held on to their lead in the closing stages to secure a valuable win. The victory keeps Barcelona's hopes of winning the La Liga title alive, and they will be looking to continue their winning run when they face Getafe on Sunday.

Real Sociedad will be disappointed to have lost the game, but they can take heart from their performance. The Basque side created several chances in the game, but they were unable to find a way past Barcelona's defence.

Real Sociedad will be hoping to bounce back from the defeat when they face Valencia on Sunday.
