Darren Waller Verletzung

Giants TE Darren Waller Placed on Injured Reserve Due to Hamstring

Missed Practices and Timetable

New York Giants tight end Darren Waller has been placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, the team announced Saturday. Waller missed six practices due to the injury in mid-August, and after returning to the field for one day, he had not been on the field since. The team has not provided a specific timetable for his return.

Impact on Giants Offense

Waller's absence will be a significant blow to the Giants' offense. He is one of Daniel Jones' favorite targets and has been a consistent performer for the team. In 2021, Waller had 67 catches for 845 yards and five touchdowns. The Giants will now have to rely on other tight ends such as Chris Myarick and Jordan Akins to step up and produce. Myarick has shown flashes of potential, but he is still unproven. Akins is a more experienced player, but he has not been a consistent producer in the NFL.

The Giants will hope that Waller can return to the field sooner rather than later. However, they will need to find a way to replace his production in the meantime.
